George Chen

In March of 2010 I had the chance to interview George Chen, the man of many hats. We discussed his various roles….label owner (ZUM), musician (KIT, Chen Santa Maria) and show organzier (Club Sandwhich). We also touched on the pros and cons of social media in relation to underground culture.  We marveled at the modern world. Or maybe we just scratched our heads a bit.

Last month, Chen hosted the George Chen Variety Show at Saturn Café.  The audience was treated to a collage of music, trivia, informal interviews and stand up comedy. Currently, he is on tour supporting the latest K.I.T. release, INVOCATION (Upset! The Rhythm).  The album is the bands second full length offering and brings a more thoughtful, orchestrated collection of songs than their first LP; the equally brilliant Broken Voyage.
